Welcome to the EIT Food School Network!

The School Network was set up in 2018 to develop links between schools, key stakeholders in school food, and EIT Food, a leading food innovation initiative. Collaborators AZTI Tecnalia, Queen’s University Belfast, Grupo AN, and University of Helsinki began working to meet the overall aim of improving food choices and reducing food waste in preschool, primary and secondary school pupils across Europe. In 2019, two additional partners joined the School Network – University of Warsaw and the University of Reading.

Throughout 2019, project partners were busy developing resources for preschool, primary schools and secondary schools and piloting these resources across the partner countries. This included the development of a new educational app for preschools and an online game for primary school pupils.

In 2020, the main aim of the project is to hold stakeholder conferences in the 4 countries across the School Network (Spain, Finland, Poland and the UK). These conferences are designed to present results from the first 2 years of the project, as well as discuss plans and ideas for the continuation of the School Network. It is hoped that these conferences will be held in the Autumn. If you are a key stakeholder in school food and would like to be involved in the conferences, please contact us via the email address provided in ‘Contact’.

We are sharing updates from all of our partners on a regular basis as the project progresses. You can find these updates in our ‘News‘ section. To find out more about each of the partners involved in this project, please visit the ‘About Us‘ section. If you would like to join the School Network or just find out more about the project, you can find details in the ‘Contact‘ section.
